Yeah, I never should've touched the stuff. And it gets hard sometimes... when I just want a break from it all.

But in their minds, I'll always be the guy who lost himself. Wasn't strong enough to resist the poison. Poor Roy, destined to lapse again.

It's true it'll always be part of who you are. And there'll always be people who judge ya based on that. But you can decide what ya wanna do with that.

They say with alcoholism... nothing's more important than your next drink. You just fool yourself into thinking that, but really, if it means going without...

Would you... actually want to find something you like more than booze?

[huffs, and then appears to deliberately give that more serious thought]

S'like I was sayin' before... I ain't like you. It ain't like there's stuff I wanted to be doin' but the drive for booze got in the way. Now, that's mostly 'cause most of the time I wasn't tryin' to do anythin' but stay alive, but... I got some more important things now.

I like drinkin', but it ain't the most important thing. And I can go without it fine if I gotta.

Well... I wanna keep giving you important things, then. And you can figure out which ones you like best.

...Well, who knows. I can say that stuff, but it's been maybe a month I've had more keepin' me goin' than spite. Can't imagine what it'd be like if had somethin' real important and then lost it. Maybe then it'd become a lot harder to kick booze back down.
